I first started playing Dishonored not really sure what to expect, but so far I am pleasantly surprised. The game's atmosphere is odd, like steam punk-esque. There are multiple ways to carry out missions and to complete objectives, so the the game gives you complete control. Normally I'm not too big a fan of this, but in Dishonored this freedom is done so eloquently I must appreciate it.
The game, to me, is quite difficult but in a "hmm... how should I do this?" not a "Fuck this" kind of way. I've spent a good bit of time on the first mission because I keep reloading saves figuring out different ways to complete my objectives. At some points I use stealth, but at others I go in like Jack the Ripper.
The game has a type of magic, but it isn't excessive or complicated in such a way that might shroud the game. I don't really like using magic in video games, but it turned out to be as simple as using Plasmids in Bioshock. So far I am fully impressed with this game, and a full blown review should be out soon.
